"Home from home"

All we can do is whole-heartedly agree with the comments of previous holidaymakers. It was like home from home - from the minute we stepped off the bus and were greeted by Ingrid - something she did personally staying there - to the sad farewells and waving off of the transfer bus - we have nothing but praise. Food was great ( Christina is a fantastic cook ), drink prices were the same as outside bars - everywhere was clean and tidy with NO late night noise.

“think again about malia and stay here”

(...) wonderful weather mid-September and a very hospitable welcome. Edge of the old town, so not much noise and nice views of the hills, but a long walk to the sea - however the pool is fine and spacious enough for sunbathing around. As every one else mentions, the owners and family are very welcoming and helpful with hints on what to do, and they also help to restore the Old Town in their spare months, so good to see 'responsible tourism' in Malia. Thanks to Ingrid, Georgios, their family and Christine for making us welcome, and serving the ice-cold beers (and pineapple juice!) just when needed.

“Fresh, clean and well cared for”

The apartments are fresh clean and well cared for. The owners Ingrid and George are very welcoming and are always ready for any advice or queries you may have. The pool is amazing and the children and adults alike enjoyed their daily swim, followed on by the good home cooked food always available there.
The beaches locally are beautiful especially near the ruins of Malia Palace. The bus services locally are great from where you can explore the region.
What is extra special about the Melissa Apts is the fact that all age groups are accommodated accordingly and the close availability of entertainment - from the Greek tavernas- to the lively nightlife.

“Melissa makes no mistakes”

Just returned from a week in these apartments and I fully recommend them to anyone seeking a base from which to explore Malia and the surrounding area of Crete. The apartments vary in size and some have nice views over the pool area while the studios and front facing apartments overlooked the street, not too pretty but acceptable for the price you pay. (...) The rooms are very clean and cleaned every day, except Sunday and linens changed regularly. They do have enough space and basic facilities for self catering; kettle, toaster, plates and cutlery. The pool area is great and the staff are friendly, but will frown upon any loutish behaviour (...) The apartments are located on the edge of the old town of Malia, well away from the infamous strip (...) in the old town, there are several pretty tavernas to visit in the evening, San Georgio is charming and serves excellent Kleftiko, while Zorbas offers excellent tasting and value pizzas. (...) Yes Malia does have the best beach, the staff waved us off and were always helpful so I would definitely recommend a visit and consider a return.

“Fantastic staff, great location!”

Ingrid and George were so welcoming! Handed us a map and explained the whereabouts of everything we needed whilst we were in malia. Christine and Anna at the pool bar were fantastic! Always helpful and food was delicious!
Location was ideal as we were far enough away from the strip for peace when we wanted it however only a couple of minutes walk away from it. Overall i would definatly return to this hotel as the staff were so fantastic!
